I was at a music festival in Guangdong a couple years back. Huge LED stage screen. Probably a couple million dollars worth of gear. Middle of the headliner's set, the whole thing went dark for three seconds. Crowd booed. Artist looked confused. Production team panicking.
Turned out it was just a cable.
One connector had worked itself loose from all the vibration. Water had gotten into another one from the afternoon rain. Three seconds of dead screen. Thousands of angry fans. That's the kind of thing that gets you fired if you're the production manager.
That night I got a call from a guy I knew who worked for one of the big screen rental companies. He said, "We need something that doesn't do this."
So we built it.

Here's the thing about LED display cables. Most people think they're just wires with plugs on the ends. They're not. A concert screen gets beaten up worse than a construction site. It gets rained on. It gets baked in the sun. It gets plugged and unplugged a hundred times in a single week. It gets thrown in trucks and bounced down highways.
And it has to work perfectly every single time. Because if one cable fails, the whole screen looks like garbage. Or worse, it goes dark.
We've been making connectors since 2003. Before LED screens were even a big thing. We started with industrial connectors for factory automation. Then the display industry found us. And honestly, we were kind of surprised by what they were putting up with.
Most LED cable suppliers don't make their own connectors. They buy them from someone else, crimp them onto a cable, and call it a day. That's fine if you're putting together a cheap sign for a corner store. It's not fine if you're building a stadium screen that has to work for three years straight.
We make our own connectors. FA series, FD series, FN series, FE series. All waterproof aviation connectors. All designed and tooled in-house. We've got over fifty patents at this point. One of our connectors—the FD "little yellow head" line type—even won an award at the ISLE International Display Exhibition. Which was nice, but honestly, the real validation came from the customers who stopped having failures.
When you control the connector and the cable, you control the whole thing. No mismatched parts. No gaps where water can get in. No compatibility issues. And because we're not paying a middleman for the connectors, we can usually cut the total cost by about twenty percent. Which is funny—better product, lower price. You'd think more people would do it that way.
Water is the enemy. I don't think people realize how much water a stage screen actually sees.
Outdoor festivals get rained on. Sometimes for days. Beach stages have salt spray. Mountain venues have fog. And the cables are just sitting there, on the ground, getting soaked.
Our standard connectors are IP67. That means you can submerge them for a bit and they're fine. If you need more, we do IP68—that's the serious stuff. The cable itself is IP65 rated across the whole assembly. Silicone sealing rings, multiple layers. We've had customers using these in coastal installations for years with zero water ingress issues. No shorts. No corrosion.
Temperature is another thing. A screen in northern China in January sees minus forty degrees. Same screen in Dubai in July sees plus fifty. Standard cables get brittle in the cold and soft in the heat. We use materials that stay flexible across the whole range. Standard version handles -40°C to +85°C. If you need more extreme, we do Teflon versions that go from -55°C to +125°C.
And sunlight. UV is brutal on plastics. We've seen cables from other suppliers crack and crumble after six months in the sun. We do 1000-hour xenon lamp aging tests on our outdoor cables. TPE or neoprene jackets. They don't crack. They don't get brittle. If you're near the coast, we can do fluoroplastic materials that resist salt spray too.
Power. That's the other thing people overlook.
A big LED screen pulls a lot of current. If your cable can't handle it, things get hot. Things melt. Things catch fire. We've seen it.
Our FD and FA series connectors are rated for 20 to 25 amps continuous. Gold-plated, thick copper contacts. Low resistance. Low heat. And we build in a safety feature that not a lot of people think about—the ground pin connects first and disconnects last. So when you're plugging or unplugging under load, you don't get that scary spark. No shock risk for the techs.
Plug cycles. A rental screen gets plugged and unplugged constantly. Standard connectors wear out after a couple hundred cycles. The pins get loose. The connection gets intermittent. We use a patented snap-lock mechanism that holds tight even after a thousand plugs. And we've got anti-reverse keying built in so you can't plug it in wrong and fry a whole cabinet. That's saved a few people from some very expensive mistakes, I can tell you.
Signal. This is where a lot of people get into trouble.
LED screens run on data. Usually over RJ45 or similar. If that signal gets corrupted, you get glitches. Flashing pixels. Entire sections going weird. At a concert, that looks terrible.
The problem is electromagnetic interference. There's a lot of power running around a stage setup. Big transformers. Lighting rigs. Audio gear. All of it pumps out noise. Standard network cables pick that up and the signal degrades.
We use industrial-grade shielded RJ45 connectors. Zinc alloy housing. 360-degree shielding. It blocks out the interference completely. And we impedance-match everything at the factory so it works with all the major control systems—NovaStar, Colorlight, Linsn. You don't have to spend time tuning it. It just works. Long runs, short runs, doesn't matter. No dropouts. No glitches.
Certifications. This matters more for export than people realize.

Look, if you're building a screen that's just going to sit indoors in a controlled environment, you probably don't need us. You can buy cheap cables and they'll be fine.
